Dough baits?
I know there are some dough baits that you can make at home, is there anyone willing to share their secrets because im sick of buying powerbait, it's to expensive.
I fish for carp with some home made dough ball. although its not exactly the same every time heres the general recipe:
2 cups Flour
2 cups corn meal
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
mix that into a bowl and add a little bit of water knead that (its messy and sticky at first) into a ball be sure not to add to much water; you can always add more but you cant take it out ya know? if you do add too much water...just add more flour until it gets to the right consistancy... its ready when it becomes a very stiff dough.. then i just take what i think i'll need for a day of fishing and put the rest in a zip-loc baggie and freeze it. i dont use a sinker with this stuff i just take a little piece about the size of a nickle and form it onto the hook in the shape of a teardrop so the whole hook is covered..cast it out gently and just wait for the hit.. you cant get more than one cast per ball but when it comes off if you reel in..it acts as chum so just rebait as needed..it stays on the hook as long as you leave it. out there. hope this helped
