What makes a super bass probox sound so good? whats makes it so special?
They aren't really special except for the complex coated enclosures they come in. As far as how they sound, that would be up to the end user as we all have different perceptions and hearing somewhat.
As far as I know they are slot port designs which is nothing special that you, I, or anyone else can not design.
The fact that they tout the claim they make 300rms sound like 500-600, well so does every other properly designed ported box. They are not lying, but this is nothing exclusive to them as well. The fact is you gain an extra 3db for the same sub in the same size ported box versus sealed. The additional 3db is equal to doubling the wattage hence the claim of "makes 300 watts sound like 500-600 watts". Nothing special here.
What I don't like is that they keep recommending that you use a high amount of bass boost @ 40-45hz. That is an indication of a poor design that obviously is not extending down to low bass well. A good design would only need 3-6db of bass boost if any at all. Sounds like they are making bass very robust & boomy. May be okay for someone just booming, but when it comes to raw quality and smooth sound, they may not fit the bill.
